I went on an offshore sea bass trip Friday night to Saturday. The air was a bit cold Friday night but warmed up on Saturday. Pretty cool seeing steam coming off the ocean. It wasn't drop and reel but it was a constant pick all day. Lots of nice sea bass, porgies, ling, pollock and a cod or 2.
I ended the day with 13 nice sea bass, 2 ling, 4 porgies,3 doggies, and 4 pout.
One guy was reeling in a fish when he got slammed and spooled. He buried the drag and used some thumb preesure but the fish never looked back. Most likely a bluefin looking for a quick meal.
