Shark River Inlet: Bait shops in this area are reporting a small gathering of schoolie bass just north of the Shark River Inlet. Since most keeper bass are still up near Sandy Hook, it’s only a matter of time before they swing down south. A clam from the surf is still your best bet. Limited amounts of bass have been following bluefish schools in this area. Anything metal is working nicely now, but keep your lures on the smaller side for now. Most bluefish schools are feeding aggressively so bloody baits and clams are just what the doctor order. Flounder action is extremely slow, with no weigh-ins reported from most shops in the area.
