Overview: Most of New Jersey has witnessed a massive striper run comparable to the fall seasons of long ago. Fish to 46 pounds were taken in the northern half of Jersey and the action just keeps getting better and better. The very tip of Sandy Hook is holding a ton of bunker, but they are starting to flood out of the Raritan Bay. Anglers are starting to use bunker as their main bait of choice. Most shops have fresh bunker every day, but snagging and dropping them is probably the best way to land a monster striper. Fluke are starting to move out of the river systems because of the rain. Killies, spearing and squid are still the best baits hands down.

Shark River Inlet: Fluke have been caught inside the Shark River during the first half of the week. Places like the North Channel have been flattie zones with spearing and killies being the two best baits. Beaches to the north of the inlet, like Bradley Beach are swarming with traveling bass and blues. Offshore action has been limited to sea bass, small fluke and ling on wrecks like the Kelly B.
