Overview: Bass anglers are still missing the beat as the striper fishing continues to disappoint for the most part. The only big time winners right now are trolling bunker spoons on first light outside of the bay. Fluke fishing is just about to take a turn for the better as snapper bluefish are being reported all over the place. Sandy Hook Channel is doing nicely for flatties along with the Sandy Hook Reef. Weakfish and large bluefish are not around like they were last week and might not pay off until later on in the month. Offshore the action is awesome with longfin, bluefin and yellowfin all over the Hudson and Glory Hole.

Shark River Inlet: More snappers have been found just outside of the inlet with a pod of fluke hovering near the rocks. Fluke throwback ratios are starting to improve with flatties to 9 pounds being the high hooks for the week. The big news of the week has to be kingfish near the river entrance and over near the North End. Look out though because brown sharks are right on their tales in the surf. Sea bass anglers have been restricted to the offshore grounds near the Klondike Banks and further north to the Sandy Hook Reef.
